ARTHUR IS REPORTING ON. WELL, YOU KNOW, RUN IN JEFF KELLY HAS BEEN PRETTY DILIGENT AND REPORTING ON THIS AND SHE'S WORKING ON GETTING MORE DOCUMENTS FOR HER REPORT ON THIS TONIGHT. SO EXPLAIN WHAT SHE'S LEARNED SO FAR. THE CDC INVESTIGATION WAS UNDER WAY AND TO CANCER-CAUSING CHEMICALS CALLED PCBS. THOSE WERE FOUND IN POOL HALL AND 2023. AND SO WE INTERVIEWED SEVERAL WOMEN WHO SAY THEY BECAME SICK AFTER SPENDING TIME IN THE BUILDING YEARS AGO. THE CDC WAS CONDUCTING WHAT'S CALLED A HEALTH HAZARD EVALUATION IN A LETTER NC STATE CHANCELLOR RANDY WOODSON SAID THAT EVALUATION WAS CLOSED AND HE SAID THIS IS BECAUSE A FEDERAL CUTS. IN FACT, HE SAID OTHER EVALUATION STATEWIDE WERE HALTED BECAUSE OF THIS EXACT REASON AND FALL 2023 NC STATE ENTERED INTO ONE OF THESE EVALUATIONS. BUT THE UNIVERSITY QUIETLY PULL OUT AND THEN REENTERED AFTER WRAL INVESTIGATES REPORTED THAT UPDATE THE EVALUATION COULD HAVE DETERMINED THE EFFECTS OF PCBS FOUND THERE. NOW IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MANDATORY FOR NC STATE TO TAKE ACTION ONCE THOSE RESULTS WERE AVAILABLE, WHICH THEY'RE NOT. 5 ON YOUR SIDE ASKED AN NC STATE SPOKESPERSON. THE UNIVERSITY IS PLANNING AN ATTEMPT TO GET THE EVALUATION DETAILS AND THAT SPOKESPERSON SAID ALL THAT WAS ABLE TO BE SHARED WAS INCLUDED IN THE CHANCELLOR'S LETTER. THAT'S WHEN THE UNIVERSITY CLOSE THE EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGY HALLS AFTER TESTING REVEALED HIGH LEVELS OF TOXIC CHEMICALS SINCE THEN, MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE WHO WORKED OR STUDIED IN POE HALL HAVE TOLD US THAT THEY HAVE CANCER OR SERIOUS ILLNESSES.</p>
